You don't need either although, contrary to what you were told about OnyX, it seems to have a pretty good reputation.

Why do you want to keep 'cleaning' your Mac, and especially every day - that's completely unnecessary. OS X is best left to look after itself and you really only need to consider third party applications if you have a specific problem to resolve and the tools provided in OS X don't succeed.

So my advice would be you don't need to install either, but of the two OnyX is OK to keep on your system as it may have a use at some point.
